Top Digital Marketing Hashtags in #2021

A long time ago Twitter used the symbol # for chatting and communication between people. Then it starts to gather content with the same theme. When Twitter first used the hashtag in 2007, it served as a grouping functionality to filter content. Today, 71 percent of people on social media use hashtags – on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google +, YouTube, Tumblr, Facebook, and the list goes on. You can easily find the information and posts that you are interested in with special hashtags. And how would you find it without them? We don’t know. But luckily we live in a world where hashtags exist, so…

If you want to communicate with your audience and attract them to your account where they could find information about things that they appreciate, you need hashtags.

If you need to communicate with users and your main aim isn’t to sell them something, you’d better use special tags to involve people in the conversation around your post. Hashtags are like a local club of a specific topic and also a hashtag is a password for this closed club.

Imagine that you need a tattoo master in Paris. And no friends with tattoos in these cities. Okay, no friends in this city at all. How can you find a perfect master? By specific tags.

But we want to promote the topic of digital marketing. So let’s find the perfect tags for it.

For example if we speak about B2B marketing, it would be:

  • #contentmarketing
  • #Digitalmarketing
  • #SEO
  • #blogging
  • #marketing
  • #branding
  • #marketingtips
  • #marketingstrategy
  • #startup
  • #b2bmarketing

We just collect popular hashtags and gather them in one place. People that are interested in B2B marketing usually use them, but it doesn’t mean that they are the only ones. Try something new and find your perfect way.

So, we have a little list of hashtags. Now we need to understand how to work with them and why we need to do it.

  • Use hashtags and involve new audiences. They could be your potential followers and would be grateful to the internet that they’ve found you. Avoid hashtags like #sternmarketingstrategy2018. It’s too specific and not discoverable. Use more common hashtags that will be unique, but not such a specific one.
  • If you build a communication strategy in social media, think about hashtags that bait for the discussion. You can mark special posts with these tags and they wouldn’t be lost among lots of other posts from different accounts.
  • On Twitter, incorporate hashtags within your posts. Your copy will be more concise and use fewer than your allotted 280 characters. For example: “Here are three ways you can grow business with your #contentmarketing strategy.”
